D16 Engine series websites
The HRV has either the D16W1 (non VTEC) or the D16W5 (VTEC) engine. The D16 series is predominately used in the Honda Civic. Here are some sites discussing what the Americans are doing to this series of engine. IMHO this is the most interesting thread (especially first post and the last 2-3 pages). http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=335078 Here are the sites. http://www.honda-tech.com http://www.d-series.org/index.php http://www.superhonda.com/ (added 28.10.2004) Happy reading :) Note: As the HRV is not sold in the US, the D16W1 and D16W5 engines are not specifically mentioned, however I still think these sites are a useful source of information. I look forward to seeing the first Supercharged HRV. :D Civic Coupe (D16) has the most similar engine to HRV VTEC, it also has the same power 124hp Website for turboed D-16 engines. http://www.turbod16.com/ For those interested in turboing their HR-V, I understand the Garrett T25 is sufficient (and/or the Greddy). Garrett T28 and GT28 would (probably) also do, see your local Turbo dealer. Good luck. :D They just keep on coming. Amazing amount of info on this thead called 'FAQ topics, post links here'. http://www.honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=637661&page=2 The VERY old but still useful original "Honda Performance FAQ" http://www.evotuners.com/hondafaq.htm thanks ! D16W5 engine (VTEC) is 95% similar to D16Y8 engine. |
