Home-poor light from headlights
poor light from headlights
I have seen on various threads on these forums comments about the poor quality of the head lights. In that the beams on full or dipped are not very bbright and how some of you guys would like to see much improvement with these. Well i have the 5 door 'y' reg cvt model and mine quite literally light up the darkest of country lanes on dipped let alone mainbeam,i just set the internal light adjuster to its maximum setting and i will be able to very happily do the legal limit(of course i do)no matter how dark it is. Mind you i do clean my headlights frequently and clean the inside of my windscreen. Dont ask me what type the bulbs are 'cause all i can say is they're very bright, anyway from my point of view(scuse the pun)i have no moans about how bright they are. atb Al' :P same here - no complaints 8) and i have a fog lights setup too but i never had to use them for a better lighting just only when i want to show it off  Mind you i do clean my headlights frequently and clean the inside of my windscreen. Uhhh, are the headlights on your car inside the cabin :?: :?: :?: and i have a fog lights setup too but i never had to use them for a better lighting just only when i want to show it off  you get fog over there?? :D to topic: the HR-V lights are very good. hehe well we do a little actually - in the summer when the humidity gets high and during the winter when you go to the mountain :) but the fog lights came with the car anyway  Mind you i do clean my headlights frequently and clean the inside of my windscreen. Uhhh, are the headlights on your car inside the cabin :?: :?: :?: dooooooh i dont think soooo As good as the standard lights might be, personally i was never over enamoured with them .... the H.I.D. light is far superior to the standard bulbs. It's not that the beam goes further, higher or wider, it's just that you have 100% coverage over the whole beam pattern - it doesn't fade at the edges like the old lights did. I t-cut my headlights to keep them scratch and blemish free. Have to confess I was quite pleased with my light last night. Better tan on my civic. I t-cut my headlights to keep them scratch and blemish free. Headlight covers on modern cars are often made out of Macrolon, and I think the HR-V is no exception. Macrolon has similar optical properties than glass, but doesn't break that easily. On the negative side, Macrolon is more susceptible to scratches. Keep that in mind when cleaning the headlight covers. Don't use any abrasives or hard brushes. Best is to use a spray-on active insect remover. metallic tcut works very well as it's a much less abrasive compound mix. I always do it watered down to stop removing too much of the surface material. Once i've tcutted it, i put a good hardshell wax on which keeps it bug free :) interesting. On the light intensity tho, I put 130/90W H4's in my CRX (I did have to 'upgrade' the wiring to do it) and I have a 100/90W H4 in my ZZR600 (std wiring) and my son has 100/90W H4's in his Civic (std wiring). In all cases they are an EXCELLENT upgrade. When I first got my HRV, I assumed I would be wanting to d the same and started doing some research, but I have found the lights to be great and so I'm not going to touch them... :) 8) Problem i have with that is the current drain. Now i'm only drawing about 3.5 amps per lamp once the HID unit has started which is much less than before. Less power drawn here means more power available for the car and other systems such as ICE :) Good thing is sthat because i've retained the original loom and converters, i can change back to the original bulbs if i need to - although i can't see that happening! ICE?!!! ICE is for people with boring cars - drive a Honda - all the entertainment you'll ever need... :)  Remember i'm not talking about tv screens or Ps2 etc ... just music, nothing else - at least at the moment. Doing a 200 mph run in an HRV with no music on can become very boring when all you can hear is 4500rpm :) By contrast, i rarely have the music on when i'm running around back roads as i'm too busy changing gear and listening to the engine noise :) Doing a 200 mph run in an HRV... http://www.tqhq.ee/forum/emoticons/hail.gif Doing a 200 mph run in an HRV... http://www.tqhq.ee/forum/emoticons/hail.gif Hehehe i meant distance not speed :p I am the same oppinion, that the front lights are very poor on lightning, can someone tell me in easy words which bulb will fit in without changing the whole system, to improve the view at night? look here: http://www.hondasuv.com/stg/viewtopic.php?t=13363&highlight=hid Doing a 200 mph run in an HRV... http://www.tqhq.ee/forum/emoticons/hail.gif x2 Well my bulbs suck......officialy! The HRV on a long dark freeway through the mountains, with no other lights, at night.....................its suicide  Especialy if your lights continue to flash like a disco like mine do! Well my bulbs suck......officialy! The HRV on a long dark freeway through the mountains, with no other lights, at night.....................its suicide  Especialy if your lights continue to flash like a disco like mine do! So what are you going to do about them? :) Get your hand in your tight pockets and get HID fitted! I was seriously considering fitting HIDS, but i dont think its worth the effort because my freeway driving would also need fog lights. So the total cost would be a little steep, especialy when i am considering another girl  |
