Air conditioning pollen filters

Help! I own late 02 HRV 1.6 CVT with 24000kms on the clock. It is a Japansee import now registered in Cyprus. My problem is that I was attempting to locate the aircon filters in order to replace them, but even though I used my workshop manual CD it does not seem to have any filters fitted. If they are there then I cannot find them easily - the local Honda dealer said it does not seem to have any fitted, but this does seem a bit crazy as you would have to remove the condenser just to clean it etc. If anyone has any ideas or experience of this I would be grateful for some advice.

Thanks in anticipation,

Phil
Are you referring to the cabin filters that sit in the airduct behind the glove box?
Like these?

:) 8)
Exactly like those :)
Unfortunately, when I removed my glove box to access the filters in the same manner as that in the photos I discovered that there did not appear to be an access panel as depicted. This is the main thrust of my query - is there likely to be another access panel/hatch elsewhere or is it possible that there are no filters installed in this particular model (incidentally, it is a Honda original equipment aircon unit. Thanks for the photos though and when/if I get the chance tomorrow I will take some shots of my unit and post them on this board accordingly.
. . . . . even though I used my workshop manual CD it does not seem to have any filters fitted.

Some Phillipino have stated that their CR-V also have no filters. :-(

Wierd ! ! !
As promised, I now have included a couple of photos of the aircon unit. It has only a non detachable blank where everyone else has a filter cover. If anyone out there has any ideas where else I should look for any filters then I would be extremely grateful for their advice!!!!! I suspect though that mine is a cheap version of the system and does not actually have any.
Looks like you don't have them!

Yes, and I would not stress about it either - my filter inserts are lying on my fridge, I went to Mocambique in darkest africa without them, and I don't have pthysis yet...

Heh!

:)
...yet (the incubation period lasts for 2 to 10 weeks).
you could cut the plastic bits that are there, then buy the filters and cover this would work (compare your pic with crx, yours is jus blocked off )

Exactly what I was going to suggest. Dremmel / saw the blank part out, install the new door and filters.

Voila!!

Yes but how do you know the return airflow (behind the blanked cap) is the same? I think you will find the casing is the same but the flow path may be different. Cutting a hole in there and placing a filter on it may result in low pressure charge. He will need to block off the standard inlet for it to work properly (assuming the airflow path is correct.)
this is no diy job - there might be some other type of air conditioner installed with a filter who knows where - just take it to a specialist
cutting may sound easy but you dont know whats behind that plastic and what gas leak you might cause
Or just leave it alone :)
You know what they say. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
