Oil consumption of 1 ltr per 5000 km
ihave a hrv 2000mod 105hp after 5000km i find 1litr less oil The exhust doesnt make smoke and i dont find oil down to the road why this happen its not a v-tec engine iuse 10/40 semi synthetic oil and it has 80000km PLEASE ANSWER ME EXCUSE MY POOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE Doesn't seem too bad to be honest. Some honda engines seem to use it and some don't. 1l per 1600km is acceptable to honda. What grade oil are you using as this sometimes seems to be a major factor with oil consuption on hondas. How has it been maintained? Mines using about half a litre per 600 miles or so, the oil rings are worn on mine. Other than using a bit of oil and not doing great mpg, it's running ok. Depending on how you drive it, mine uses no oil around town but uses more on motorways. I look it differently, at least this way, ever 1000 miles it's nearly had an oil change and i've not had to get dirty doing it ;) well in the 13 thousand miles ive owned my v tec V i have'nt put a drop off oil in apart from servicing it....sounds like luck of the draw to me.... From 22,000 when i bought it up to 68,000 when i broke it .... mine didn't use any either ;) I think 44,000 miles of driving it on the VTEC has worn it in just a little too well lol In five years and now 92,000 kms, i have never added one single drop of oil in between 10,000k servicing. Never burns oil, JUST BLOODY HEADLIGHT BULBS!!!!! I see you found nemo ;) I'd seriously consider putting your next set of bulbs in whilst wearing doctors gloves - can't see any other reason for you to blow so many! I just dont know what to do with myself! (sing it) I have been very careful with fitting them. The fact that the globes go bright white and bright blue inside means they are getting more current/power than they should.(IMHO). :roll: |
