Just bought 2007 CRV last week. Can you turn OFF the day light running lights????? Not that I know of. Also be careful at dusk because with the DRL you may think your headlights are at night on but they are not. Sure the DRL will be on but they are dimmer and the tailights won't be on at all. I think there's a fuse; do a search for "disable drls" I believe. If you flip through the user's guide, it'll have a fuse diagram; if nothing else is listed for the fuse other than "daytime running lights", it should be ok to remove without issues. Do a search first, it has been discussed. Make sure you're not in Canada or somewhere else where it's not legal to do without DRLs etc. -Ernie Yes, you can easily turn them off! Turn the engine off and take the key out of the ignition -- Presto! The DRLs are off!! Why would you want to disable a safety feature of your new vehicle? :? I think pulling on parking brak will disable DRLs. I se a lot of people driving at night with just the DRL's. Silly gooses see their dashes light up and don't realize that the headlights are not on. The main computer will detect this a problem in most cars this one is so computerize. I know it's a problem I am not use to this DRL stuff. for 07+, just pull the fuse and thats it. DRL's are mandatory on new cars sold in canada since 1990 i believe. but they are not required on old cars. i've actually seen a lot of new cars driving around with DRL disabled coz of HID's or the owner just simply dont like DRL's. i've seen some cop cars with DRL disabled as well - i guess they need it when they're doing some undercover work at night. cops in my area dont really bother you unless u get pulled over and they start snooping around and find out you disabled it. then... they will send you to get a motor vehicle inspection and you will have to put everything back or you cannot drive the car. :lol: I disabled mines on my 2008 because put xenon projectors; just pull fuse #37 from the fuse box by the brake and that's it and the good thing is that you won't get any drl light on the dashboard. I probably make the fog lights as the drls if possible in the future. |
