Corporate 10 bolts

I have a set out of an 88 K5 Blazer.
how strong are they?
and what kind of sterring set up is needed.
I'm stuck here on wether to sell them or use them.

ANYTHING about these axles would be appreciated.
Well, here is a write up on it. As for whether I keep em' or sell em', it is always going to come down to what you want to do.

comparable to the amc 20 and dana 30... slightly stronger
but if you replaced your jeep axles with them the adapters
for you brake lines and drive shafts would cost quite a bit
not to mention the hours of labour needed for the swap...

a set of gears in ure jeep axles would sure beef then up
thanks for the info gentlemen.
If you're going to spend the time doing the swap at least go to a D44/14bff combo. D60/14bff is better but the D60 front ends are a lot more expensive.
IMO, it wouldn't be worth the effort. I've seen quite a few 10 bolts blow apart locked and being hammered on, etc. Then again I've seen plenty of blown up AMC 20s and Dana 30s...
I think a front 10bolt is comparable to a D44.. 8.5" ring gear and similar size housing.. the outer knuckles and stubs are the same as a D44. Matter of fact, I recall Shannon Campbell running a 10bolt/12bolt combo on his first magazine-feature-rock-crawler several years ago.

The rear 10bolt is less desirable.. it's a C-clip axle. So is a GM 12 bolt.
