I have to say I liked teh Trailblazer/Envoy, but for them to add a stretched version was stupid. They already had the Surburban. What's the point? Seriously, what's the point? Ford didn't do that with the Explorer, they just made it better and better, if someone wanted something bigger then they would get the Expedition. It was a smart use of money on resources on Ford's part, but very dumb for GM. It makes no sense for those models. ---------

The point was that the Explorer had a third-row seat and the TrailBlazer did not. GM had the choice of re-engineering the TrailBlazer to fit one in, or simply stretching the platform to make another version. It almost certainly made back the investment.

I remember when I went to Hondas Pilot ride and drive...one of the GM guys was like "fuck" when he saw the Pilot/Explorer had 3rd rows and the Highlander was getting one.... I Proudly made my General Manager throw up in the Trailblazer during that event... we had a timed section making a 55 degree turn over criss-crossed industrial rope to highlight the Pilots independent rear suspension... the Pilot could make the turn at about 50 mph with the Highlander and Explorer just behind... the Blazer no matter how hard we tried ass end would go flying out...hence, GM puking... funny all that I really remember was being shocked that I'd take the Explorer over the Highlander...

Then go take a Pilot off road....... who know's maybe we won't here from you again and one day read a news headline "Two missing bodies in Honda minivan found"...................

--------- That probably means that the Ascender 7-passenger's gone.

The EXT models were always weaker than their 5-passenger counterparts. With this news, and the news of the shutdown of OKC in February, I wonder if this means that the GMT 360s are going to get redesigned soon, and if they'll be 7-passenger models without needing to be stretched.

In truth, the EXT GMT360s were LONGER and HEAVIER than Tahoes, Escalades, and Yukons. But they also had more commodious 3rd seats than the GMT800s.
