Have you ever heard of this fuel release?
I just bought a 1995 540ia with around 78,000 miles. It is in great shape, but i noticed the other day i thought i smelled fuel like my bimmer was flooded a bit or something, but it drove fine. I parked it and happen to look under the car and i noticed back by the passenger side rear tire a little drip action. I wiped it with my hand and it was fuel. It was closer to the middle of the car than by the tire, but eventually it stopped and then i drove it again the same distance and there was nothing. What the hell would that be?
I am concerned i have a small fuel leak, but now it's not leaking. I do notice now that at the front of my car at the bottom there is a small hole where a plug should be or something and i have a tiny little drip of coolant. It is very minor, but i do know i need to plug that up. I don't need to top up my coolant all the time. On the advertisment where i bought my bimmer it says fuel release under options, but in my manual it does not say anything about fuel release. Does anyone have any knowledge of the 540ia?
thanks
B

PULL out your back seat bottom and open the covers to the fuel pump and sender unit. those gaskets may have gave. also pull the car in the air and trace your fuel lines. for possible cracks.

If it leaks intermittently, it could be due to the level in the tank. See if it leaks when it is full.
