E 46 That dies when warmed up!

I own a 2001 330i that has been giving me a problem with dieing after it has been driven a while. After driving about 15 to 20 miles it will die when coasting to a stop some times.Ut will also die after driving it for a while and go into store for a few minutes and come back out and drive off.It will start right back up and will run a little rough but then will smooth out.It has been to the dealer 4-5 times and will not dupicate for them.I my go days without doing it are may die 2-3 in a days period.Any suggestions.BMW mechanics can't find out what is wrong.

Can you tell us what the mechanics already ruled out?

At first they thought that the K&N filter was letting too much air in for sensor.I told them it had done it before I put in filter.Next they thought that the fuel pump was losing pressure so they put in new pump. Still died. They have not got or found any code at all. I am sure they must have check out sensors but never told me any thing about it.This morning I went shopping with my kids and had no trouble ,On way home we stopped and ate at Mickey D's for about 10 minutes and I backed out of spot and drove off slowly and while rolling slow threw lot it died. This has been what it has done.It is after I have driven for a while and while coming to stop at a light or driving off slowly after stopping is when it dies.I never dies at any speed but this way.I am supposed to be taking it on the 25 for a BMW enginner to try his hand at it.Do you have any answers?

Are you giving it gas when this happens, or letting it coast? I was thinking something like the idle position sensor, or whatever its called. There are probably many possibilities.

It is when I am coasting more so!

The idle on tac is eratic at these times. It my drop from 100 rpm to 0 and it dies.It is like there is not a set idle speed to keep it running.
