Using an adaptor with a torque wrench

Hey,

I accidentally ordered a 1/2" torque wrench, and my socket has 3/8" drive. I figured I'd just drop by sears and pick up a socket adaptor to convert my 3/8" sockets to 1/2" when I use the torque wrench...my question is, will this cause any error in the torque measurements?

Thanks in advance,

Ben

No. Any difference in the amount of force transmitted from your hand to the socket by adding that adaptor would be miniscule.

Thanks for the info :)

OT: what's the story behind your sig? I saw the full picture somewhere...is it photoshopped?

I got the picture out of the Atlanta Journal Constitution (AJC)- the dailey rag in Atlanta. It was in conjunction with a story about someone driving an SUV in a parking garage that mistakenly backed into this BMW pushing it partly out of the building.

Looks like a 5er to me.

There was no one in the car at the time, and I believe that the car was pulled back in teh building. I heard the story on the radio and instinctively pulled up the AJC on-line to see if there was a picture thinking that it might make a good avitar.

Here's the full picture that was in the paper. I had to crop it down to get it to fit in the avitar.
