amount if oil needed for oil change? 325i 92
my 93 325I needed about 6.9qts--probably same as the 92 MikeG About 7 qts. should be fine. Be sure to get a new crush washer for the oil drain plug - you can get them at your local dealership. new crush washers have been included with every oil filter I purchased--one for the pan drain, one for the oil filter bolt MikeG 1 oil filter 7 quarts of oil here's how you do it: 1. lift up the car 2. take oil cap off, unscrew drain plug and let oil drain for ~10 mins 3. open oil filter cannister and take old filter out 4. put new filter in(i put it in dry as it helps keep things clean and most people do it this way), put back the lid on the cannister and scre the big bolt back 5. put drain plug back and BE CAREFUL NOT TO OVER-TORQUE IT(it will strip the head and you'll be screwed, use common sense on this one and you'll be fine) 6. pour in all of the 7 quarts of oil you bought and put oil cap back on. 7. lower car back on the ground, start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to get the oil flowing while watching the oil pressure light on the dash(it should go out a few seconds later after you started the car) and you're done. good luck ... it should take you about 20-30 mins for everything. How do you reset the little meter thing that tells you when you need to get an oil change(it comes on for a few seconds after you start your car)? pin seven from diagnose connector and chassis should be shorted and ignition turned on for couple of seconds until all green lights are lit use test light to do it so you wont screw sth up( not diode but simple bulb one) new crush washers have been included with every oil filter I purchased--one for the pan drain, one for the oil filter bolt MikeG Ha! I always wondered why I ended up with an extra washer. Talk about missing the obvious. :silly: where abouts can i find the 7th pin in the car? is it by the steering wheel? i have no clue where that pin is! where abouts can i find the 7th pin in the car? is it by the steering wheel? i have no clue where that pin is! read this http://www.unofficialbmw.com/e36/electrical/e36_reset_service_lights.html sweet! it worked! |
