Or do I need to alter something before swaping them? M3 is '95 and my 328 is 97' so they're both e36.

they will fit, however you will want to get m3 sways and end links to balance the changes, if not your car wont handle to well, ask me how i know ;)

How much would those run me, and would I need em if I'm just gonna change front struts?

Solidhead, if you are going to change the geometry of the car's handling characteristics you aren't going to want to do it half way. The sway bar end links run about 20 bucks ea, you need 2, and the sway bar itself can be found used for probably under 50 bucks. You also want the one for the rear. I do not recommend changing the front struts for m3 ones and leaving the rears stock, you wont like it, nor would i recommend doing the struts and shocks all around with m3 parts and not the sway bars and proper end links. If you do a search you will find plenty of information regarding this topic.

BabyM - When i first installed the ///M3 springs/struts/shocks on my car i didn't have the end links, it was a sunday so the $tealerships were closed so i had to live with the stock one for a couple of days (turns out you should buy these at www.bimmerparts.com not the $tealership). My car would fish tail at any speed over 10 mph which lead to some close calls. I am not exagerating (sp?) the car's geometry was that off.

I understand your point and I'l take your adivce cleoent, the reason why I inquired about changing just the front struts was because I found someone selling M3 suspension with 30k miles on it and I need to change my front struts but I liked the price for the entire set and though I could swap it without problems. Thanks for your help.
