Cars House

This morning I went out to go to work and I got in my car depressed the clutch while it was in first gear. Turned the motor over and the car was jumping forward. For some reason I CAN start my car without pushing the clutch. Anyways, I took it out of gear and tried to start it again. Started right up but it would not go into gear. It was cold out but even when I let the car warm up it still wouldnt go into gear. I had to start it up W/O pressing the clutch in reverse so I could get out of the parking slot. After I got out I shut the car off and then put it in first gear, started it W/O the clutch, drove it around the parking lotthen pulled into another spot and SLAMMED it into 2nd. I then pushed in the clutch and it didnt die. After that it was fine. Can anyone help me on this problem?:dunno

Sounds like your clutch hydraulics are shot. Clutch master and/or slave cylinder are not working when cold, which means when you press the pedal down, the clutch is not disengaging.

That is what I was thinking but it has been pretty cold out and this is only the 2nd time in 3 months. I will check my Slave cylinder.

My slave cylinder is kinda 'sticky' occasionally when it's cold, too, so I feel your pain. The upside is that that isn't a real expensive part.
