ok my car is too low to jack up..... the understeer site tells u to use the tire change jack on the side holes but i got sideskirts covering them up! HELP ME i wana install my intake! I drive mine up on ramps for some stuff, but if you need to jack it, drive it up onto some 2x4's. The extra inch and a half that I get is enough for me to get my jack underneath my car. Ted go to walmart and buy a low capacity floor jack.. jack up one side of the car and then use a larger floor jack to jack up the front end also carry around the floor jack in the trunk incase you get a flat SIMPLE SOLUTIONS: 1 BUY A "RACE JACK" (BUT YOU MAY STILL NEED OPTION 2) 2 CARRY SOME SMALL PEICES OF 1" THICK BOARDS. DRIVE ONTO THEM & FRONT WILL BE HIGHER 3 IF "2" DIDN'T WORK YOU CAN COMBINE 2 BRARDS & EVEN NAIL OR GLUE THEM TOGETHER (NOT REQ'D BUT CONVENIENT) STAGGERED, TO MAKE LITTLE RAMPS. I see this at tracks & autox events. (sorry for all those caps but I am too lazy to retype) you want a scissor jack. that's what i am getting too thanks to my rieger sideskirts. THAnks for the SUPER QUICK RESPONCES!!! ill be trien to make a 2x4 small ramp then maby construck a mini ramp! probly pick up a lil tiny cheap jack THANKS MERRY CHRISTMAS!! installing CAI tonight probly i dont understand why u need a jack to install a CAI ?? :dunno i couldnt figure that out either lol Maybe his AC bumper cover/lip sits too low to be able to remove without scraping. I use my feet to prevent the OEM cover from dropping to the grnd. Then again if it sits too low and he isn't going to remove cover, he might have trouble being comfortable because he has to bend to do the installation. So jacking up a few inches is more convenient. How low is your car? Most people roll up on 2x4s or 2x12s. Having a lower saddle jack relaly helps. Do you really have to use those side holes? I did my oil change and just positioned my regular 2 ton jack underneath the car on some sturdy sections underneath the front/side of the car, behind the front wheels. It felt sturdy. I only did this because I didn't realize those side circles were for jacking up the car. All in all, it worked. Seemed fine. :) |
