Hey ,
After years at looking the style of E30s i finally bought a 92 E30 convertible .
I have to fix the window regulator on the drivers side and blower motor for Heat and AC.
But thats not my main problem . I locked the car up for the first time at my job and when i came out to the car dreaming of my bed after 16 hour shift ,i was taken by surprise when i could not get in the car .
I tried moving the key in many different ways , it even got stuck for a bit .
The Locks just bumped up and would not come all the way up and unlock .
Is this an easy fix i can do ? Is there some kind of reulator or something that has to be replaced ?

PS , Now i know why the window was broken ,LOL

on your door handle, from the inside there is a rod connected from the key catch to the lock. there is also a elecrical switch that lock and unlocks your door. You mentioned that it sometimes sticks, that is a sign that the lock is worn out and goes past where the switch should lock/unlock door. try this when you are unlocking/locking the door. do it slowly and gently.
