I don't know if I'm posting this in the right place but here goes!
I've just realised that I have been tricked into paying 8 a month by credit card by
Some of you probably know about it already but in case there are a few who don't I thought I'd post it.
I bought something last November from electricshopping.com and clicked on a button at the end of the transaction. Apparently there are a lot of shops and services involved and they pass your details on to shoppersdiscountsandrewards who then start taking this 8 from your credit card every month. I should have queeried it before, I know I'm stupid :o but you don't expect a shop that you have just bought an item from for 250 to reward you by dropping you in the s**t!!!
After contacting my credit card company who gave me the phone # to ring I am getting refunded the last 3 months and they are sending a form to try to claim the rest. They tell me I signed up for this but I certainly wasn't aware of this.

It's not a scam, very cleverly worded yes, but not a scam.

I think the message to send out to people is to read through everything before pressing the purchase button.

I know I've seen this posted once before on the forum, but I personally would never ever even consider shopping with any business that uses such an underhanded tactic.

I would have thought that the damage far outweighed the loss of reputation they must ultimately suffer.

EDIT: What I think I meant was, I would have thought that the small bit of revenue they would make from this was more than offset by the loss of reputation they must ultimately suffer.

i had encountered a similar link on the easyjet website,luckily i read the terms and did not click on it. But the question is should these links be allowed on these websites,especially just after paying by card. cleverly worded on not these links are a sort of scam /trick to lure gullible people into signing up for services they dont need.

Vistaprint have done this for ages, yet still every other supplier I have a meeting with hands me a flimsy VP business card.

You'd think after they'd spent 20+ on petrol they'd spend a little money on a professional printing company to make a good parting impression! :rolleyes:
