MBNA platinum card - apply now or wait til Jan

I have a large (slowly reducing) amount of credit card debt which so far I have been successful in moving from 0% deal to 0% deal. I need to make the next transfer by the end of Jan 09.

I have seen that the MBNA Platinum card currently offers 0% for 13 months for a 2.9% fee. This seems a good deal. My question is - should I apply for it now, or wait til January? I don't want to waste 2 of the 13 months by applying before I need it. But is there a risk of the deal ending if I wait?

Any advice gratefully received.

The Platinum Plus & Platinum Rewards cards have alternated between 13 and 14 months for a very long time now. That's no guarantee of course, but certainly a good indicator?

However, why not go for Virgin Money for 16 months 0%?

I already have a Virgin Money card - that's the one that is ending.

I already have a Virgin Money card - that's the one that is ending.I did wonder, because Virgin would have been the obvious choice due to the longer intro period. :)

In that case, an early application would be preferable...because there's a strong chance that you'll be rejected, or receive a less than adequate credit limit (depending on circumstances of course).

I assume you know that, if successful, you'll have to BT via a current account transfer (SBT)?

I didn't know that but it shouldn't be a problem. Thanks.
