Fraud committed by ex lodger

Ive had someone living with me for about 4 months,

They have recently moved out and got a credit card statement today showing a transaction to Dell.

Would this be covered under normal fraud rules and be refunded etc , do i need to report it to the police. Just at work so will call them when i get home!

So how do you know the lodger did it? What proof?

Because ive found a cardboard box torn up with an address label from the company on the credit card statement, so ive put 2 and 2 together and come up with 4!

Be careful because in many instances fraud cover is nulified if the person committing the fraud is living in your home!
This can be rectified in some cases if you are willing to report the person to the police so i would check out the rules with your specific company first!
hope this helps
Graham

hmm yeah, I can see that it must be a lot more difficult to prove that it wasn't you that ordered the item when it's someone who was actually living with you.

good luck finding out what if any cover you have in this situation.

i have to ask because it isnt clear
1. who got the credit card statement ? you or him
2. how did you not notice a dell delivery ?
