I have an Amejust set up a DD on my new account but I think this will only pay off the minimum payment,

how do I update my account so it pays off the full balance?

Register on their website www.americanexpress.co.uk (http://www.americanexpress.co.uk) and request a DD form. When you get the form at the top write in bold "PAY BALANCE IN FULL". They will update your DD details and write to confirm the new DD. Check your next statement to ensure that it says balance will be paid off in full. (until then manually pay off the balance).

I thought I had to use the form but when I just called up it took 1 min to sort out and no faffing with postage just a free phone call.

Might be worth trying that option first in future - they'll be able to help you more than people on a message board ;)
