Credit cards and ATMs

Hi, first post. I'll give some info before I ask my question, I'm a student and I have a Debenhams store card that I got for a good chunk off a lot of clothes I was buying about 5 months ago and I paid it off within two weeks, since then I havent used the card and swore I wouldnt use it again as I only wanted that initial discount.

Right now I have 17 to spend until the 23rd of December when I get paid. I do have a job and my student loan comes in on January which goes towards rent and whatever else, but from now until the 23rd I'm living on buttons and have been for the past 4 weeks because of the odd way my work pays me, which is every four weeks but they begin counting the next 4 weeks 2 weeks in advance, and I only started the job so I was left with buttons until the 23rd

To my question, any idea how much Debenhams charge for me to take money out of the ATM using that card? It has a 1000 limit and I'd like to take out 60 to last me until I get paid, which I'll then pay off the card that day :o but I dont want to be paying loads of interest and I've heard horror stories of people being charged a lot of money :o unfortunately there is no one I can borrow from and i'm at my limit on my overdraft and I cant talk to them until monday about getting bigger overdraft on a temporary basis, I have friends coming to see me tomorrow and I'd really like to have a bit more than a tenner to spend :o

any help or advice on what I can do? Should I use the credit card? I know little about them.

It's a store card, not a credit card, so you can't get cash with it. Sorry.

As far as im aware you can only use a store card in store & not to withdraw cash from a cash machine.

Sorry I should have made it clear, its a Mastercard, it acts as a store card for collecting points but it can work on atms, but i cant find anything about it on their website as they dont really want to tell people downsides I suppose. Its a credit card, account numbers, pin number, mastercard logo, the works.

2% fee (not sure about interest...check your personal T&C's)
Discretionary and subject to authorisation

Check the links I provided above. Looks like it's 2% from a Debenhams till and 3% from an ATM. Interest will accrue from day one, and you'll need to clear two consecutive statements in full to stop it (unless you overpay to create a small positive balance when you're paid at Xmas).

Thanks a lot. So would paying 1p extra be enough? As in, pay the original money taken, pay the charges and 1p extra to clear it all?

I appreciate the help.

No, you'd need to pay at least 10 over just to be on the safe side. If the account is in a positive balance the company can refund that amount back to a current account.
