Home-how do you close a credit card account
how do you close a credit card account
I've always just phoned up and closed my CC's. Ask for a confirmation letter. I agree. A phone call to customer services should be all that's required, but ask RBS to confirm closure in writing This lender is normally quicker than most. The bank does not ask you to return its cards. You're simply requested to cut them up. You can request a cheque for the surplus 9. If you have an excess of available credit, it's advisable to check your credit reports to make sure the a/c is marked "settled" The whole process (from the initial phone call to your credit file update ) can sometimes span a couple of months, so allow plenty of time ;) I have just rang and cancelled my and more card...they rang me back from the relevant department, tried and tried to keep me, with 0% on purchases for 7 months, i said no numerous times and i was cancelling due to not using the card and wanting a 0% balance transfer rate, he went off, said they couldnt offer it at this time, tried again to keep me, buti saod no. I have always rung in the past and closed account successfully. I usually write to them and ask for confirmation in writing. got 3 credit cards i have payed off and to avoid using them again,i want to completely close the accounts, wrote to one(rbs) twice requesting they close it(iam 9 in credit) and they keep sending me statements, any other suggestions?? write and ask for credit balance to be refunded, and enclose you (cut up) cards? |
