Late payment errors

Hi there

I'm new to the site, but wanted a bit of advice. I have an Abbey credit card at 0%, but for the last 2 months have been charged late payment fees, despite having paid on time. Each time Abbey has apologised and refunded the fees, saying it's a system error, but I am really worried this will have been logged on my credit file and affect my rating.

Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Many thanks

Typical ShAbbey !!!!-up. It's unlikely they've been reported as they are not missed payments, but the only way you'll be able to check is to obtian your credit ireports in a few weeks time.

DO NOT take their word that they have or haven't been reported. If I were you I would immediately register a formal complaint in case if reoccurs and leads to further problems.

Hello, I have been travelling the last two months and so have been as usual paying my monthly minimum 5 for abbey credit card. Now I am back, I logged into account and checked just to be sure and lo they have taken 12 late payment fee the last month. This is because the minimum payment has been changed to the other end and they have not notified me. I called and talked to them and they say they do not have to notify me and that changes in minimum payment can happen according to T&C. But they said they will repay 12 if I pay 268 or so (Nov and Dec minimum payment) by Dec 24!

Now, my worry is even if I do pay back the amount and get the 12 back, will my late payment get reported to credit file.

Also, I would suggest that jessiecat make sure there is no change in minimum payment.

Thanks, G.

Minimum payments were changed from 6th Oct 08.
