Just applied for new CC

Hi,

We're pretty tartish when it comes to transferring our credit card debt and have just found a deal here on MSE (the Barclaycard Oyster).

Have done the online application and the decision has not been made yet and it said they will contast us for further information. This is the first time this has happened, when applying for others in the past, it's just been accepted.

Any ideas what they're going to want to know and how long it will be before we hear from them?

Cheers xx

You'll hear from them in about a week time. Normally they will:

- call you to confirm a few details (i.e. income/employment/other borrowings)

or

- accept the application and send you a card/PIN

or

- ask you to send in proof of I.D. and/or address

or

- decline you without reason and attach a leaflet on credit scoring

Thanks for that! Will wait and see

we normally hear straight away, but the last few times we have tarted we have had to wait for them to call back.
The last one was to call work to check i worked there, BUT i think you will find the main reason is...ill guess you didnt want PPI on your card.. so they will want to talk to you about having it. That is the main reason..i had 3 calls trying to get me to have it...just say you have wealthy parents who will help you if you get in serious trouble, they dont know what to say to that,so it shuts them up sooner!

Ahhhhh, yes we didn't opt for the PPI - good point!

i can hear your phone ringing now.....
