Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has ever recieved the same texts as me from an unknown number? They all read:

Please contact Liz at Mackenzie Hall urgently on 01563556701 quoting reference...

I have never been in contact with a Mackenzie Hall, and I always get the same text around the same time every week.

I've read a few things on the net but still havn't come to a conclusion whether it's a scam or what.

Anybody in the know?

Are they not a debt collection agency?

I think so, but I don't think I have any debt to them. I can't think why they would be in touch with me

Anyway, if they are a debt collecting agency, and are serious about any outstanding debt.... Why on earth are they sending me a text message??????

They are a DCA specialising in statute-barred debts or other debts that are bought cheaply because they are seen as unlikely to be collected. I certainly wouldn't bother calling them - if the texts are annoying you, either speak to your network and ask for them to be blocked or else write to MH requesting your number is removed and any further correspondence is put in writing.

Whatever you do, don't call them.

You may have had an original debt that is over 6 years old and is now off your credit reports, but they can also lie, and say you owe money to companies you never had credit with in the first place, and are particularly nasty to deal with.
