Is this necessarily a bad thing

I just applied online for a Barclaycard Platinum for the low LOB interest and rather than come back with a decision within the alloted 60 seconds they replied with 'Sorry we need more time...' They gave a few plausible reasons why but I wondered whether anyone else has come across this before and if so, is it a bad thing and roughly how long does it take for them to confirm back to you either way? Any responses gratefully received! Thx.

I had a similar thing with an American Express application earlier this year. We'd just moved and were not on the electoral register at the new address which could have been the problem as we have a perfect credit history etc. I was initially a bit annoyed about it but got a call about 4 days later to say that the application had been successful and that everything was in the post.

You could always get a copy of your credit report if you think there might be a problem.

Yes, I had the same and it turned out to be the need for further identity checks - all turned out OK in the end though.

Yes I had the same thing when I applied for a barclaycard, I heard nothing further until a card turned up in the post, I think within a week or two. Good luck!!
