Section 75 claim - advice please

Hi there
just found out that MFI have gone into administration leaving my kitchen half finished.
The remaining bits were due for delivery on 5th Dec.
There is an outside chance (very poor odds !) that I will get the remainder of the order.

Luckily I paid the deposit on a credit card.

Not entirely sure what I can claim for. Obviously the missing pieces of the order, but I also need the old kitchen removed from my drive and the remainder of the kitchen fitted. I have a fitter through MFI, but he's a sub-contractor so isn't likely to get paid for any of the work he's done, let alone any future work. We've spoken and he will finish what he can out of professional pride - bless him !!

To be absolutely sure of getting a finished kitchen I need to find a source of the missing parts, procure them and pay for them to be installed ....

What do I do ?

Thanks in anticipation for any advice :-)

Dave

they are in administration - it doesnt mean they have stopped trading, you should be ok - you have paid some on your credit card, dont panic! - i'm not (she lied!!) mines due for delivery on 11th and fitting on the 15th!! argghh!!

positive thoughts!!!

Section 75: The law’s very specific, you get the protection for the whole thing even if you only pay for a part of it on the card, provided what you pay for costs more than 100 (and less than 30,000).

Here’s a quick example of how it works…Savvy Salma spots the high tech TV she’s been planning to buy at half price for 500 including delivery in a high street sale. Yet she’s only got 10 left on her card limit (don’t worry, it’s a cashback card, she’s going to pay it off in full).

Salma pays 10 of the cost on her credit card and the rest on her debit card. Sadly the next day the store goes bust, before her telly is delivered. Yet she can claim the WHOLE 500 back from the credit card company, because she paid in part on the card.
Therefore if you want protection…
