Help please and some advice for refused credit card with good rating

Hi there,

I am desparately trying to help my girlfriend clear some debt off her credit cards however at the moment am only having refusals from card companies.

She has approx 3000 debt on the cards and also a personal loan of appx 21k. I want to get a new card with a 0% balance transfer rate in order for her to pay off the credit cards..... so far no company will approve.

Does anyone have suggestions, i have ensured she is on the electoral role and her history has no missed payments/ccj's etc and all reviews of her credit score come up with a good rating.

Is it worth calling the companies or getting a credit report?
Any help greatly appreciated.

many thanks

Yes, getting the credit reports so you can see if there's anything unusual on any of them would be a fantastic idea.

Definitely worth getting a copy of a credit report but it could be that due to her high relatively levels of existing debt they see further credit as a big risk?

Hi guys/girls thanks for the info.

As soon as I get that i'll be asking for more advice.

Much appreciated

I am guessing here but with a personal loan of 21k plus any additional spare limit on any cards - she would seem to be over committed.
The best way of reducing the debt might be to slam down her spending and overpay the credit cards that charge the most every month.
Tell her to go over to the debt free wannabee board.
