Credit Card Interest Rates

Just sent the following to my bank:

Hi,

I keep getting messages from HSBC about the interest

rates dropping on my savings accounts.

e.g. "The Bank of England have reduced the Base Rate by

1.50%. Following this, we have changed the rate of interest you..."

I was just wondering when I am going to get a similar email

saying that the interest rate on my credit card will be

dropping in line with the Bank of England base Rate?

Thanks
What do you think the reply will be?

I think they will either ignore it or give you a very long winded explanation which could have been summarised by the word "never" :p

Variable credit card rates are not based upon/linked to the BOE base rate so NO you won't get a similar e-mail or even a reply possibly.

Rates are based upon other factors such as what the competion offers, how you manage your account, what you ask for, how much they can get away with whilst still having customers !!
