deposit paid by credit card protection

I am thinking about making a major purchase, 1200 pnds. The seller wants 600 pnds deposit up front with a 10 -12 week lead in time before he will have my order in from abroad where upon I would collect and pay for the goods. I not easy with this in the present eco climate and was wondering if I paid the deposit on my credit card my monies would be safe under section 75 should the seller fails to deliver etc etc. Any advice most welcomehttp://images.moneysavingexpert.com/images/forum_images/icons/icon5.gif

Yes, as long as you pay for at least 1 of the total cost by Credit Card, your entire purchase will benefit from cover under Section 75 of the Consumer Credit Act.
