My visa people (saga) have written to tell me that unless I use my card within 30 days, they will terminate my usage. I would like to keep it, even though I don't use it once in a blue moon. The thing is I've forgotten how to. I've never used the pin they issued me with, and seem to remember singing slips of paper. Is this how it is still done?. If not, does it mean I have to contact them and ask for a pin.

Yes you will need to contact them and ask for a new pin it usuall takes about 7 days

On the other hand you could explain to them that you have difficulty remembering your PIN and ask them for a PIN free card.

These are called Chip & Signature Cards, you continue to sign and don't have to worry about a PIN.
