Credit woes in Texas
| I recently defaulted on a credit card. Even though I have been making payments, they were either late or not the minimum amount required. This debt has now been turned over to a collection agency, who called me stating that if I did not pay half the balance that the creditor would take me to court and put a lien on my house. If I paid the minimum balance required on my last statment would that be sufficient enough or do I have to pay half of the balance? In addition, they want me to send postdated checks for the next 4 months for payments. What do I do?
