Help! Outdated Credit Information on CR
I live in the State of Washington. If the CRA can not, in most cases, report negative information that is more than 7 years old, ten years for bankruptcies, at what point in time or on what date does the 7 year limitation start? If the debt is sold from Collection Agency to Collection Agency does the 7 years start over each time it is sold? My credit report from Trans Union shows " laced for Collection" "Updated 10/1999" "laced 12/1994". I don't know what date the 7 years begins at! Can the debt be re-reported and the 7 years starts again? If I was to use the 6 year SOL in WA State on debts made in another state do I go by the SOL of the state the debt originated in or the state that I am residing in now? Can you ask the CRA to stop reporting a debt based on an SOL or only on the 7 year FCRA rule? If a collection agency picks up a debt that is over 7 years old and starts collection action. Can it report it to the CRA as a new debt? |
