| We are in New York State. I have a close friend who has been layed off from work for about 3 months now. As you can imagine, finances get a little tough.. She contacted the credit union that holds her auto loan to make payment arrangements and keep her car. The credit union did not want to help, and has since frozen her other credit union accounts. (Checking/Savings) They say she is a "risk to dispose of vehicle" Does anyone know the legalities of this? Is this a common tactic? What options does she have to get the accounts freed up again? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks |
