What is the name of your state? CA I received first notice for a debt, disputed it certified within 30 days and now, 3 months later, the debt collector has not dropped the claim or mailed me proof of the debt. This breaks FTC laws. I will settle for a compensation of $200 just to get this over with and pay for expenses of having to deal with them or I will sue in small claims court for $1000 for the extra time I will have to waste. I know I have to mail them a letter telling them I will sue and how much for, can/should I in the same letter tell them that I am willing to settle for the lower amount? |
