Sued by a Dentist
What is the name of your state? KY I received a civil summons for district court today. Last August I went to a new dentist. From the initial call I asked if they accepted my insurance and they said yes. On my first visit I gave them my insurance card. I went several times between Aug and Oct.During my visits I paid the amounts that were given to me under my insurance schedule. The dentist did not file with my insurance company until Oct when all work was completed. It was then discovered that my insurance company would not pay for my services. Last January I received a collection notice from their lawyer. I responded to it stating that I would pay for my initial 2 visits. The total was $491.00 but I felt that if they had filed in a timely matter I would not have incurred the charges. The total bill is now over $1300 plus interest. Do you think that I have a valid complaint against the dentist? Thanks for any help! |
