I owed a local community college about $350.00 for about one year and it was sent to a collection agency. When i was contacted by the collection agency i told them that i was working it out with the school and it would be taken care of. Well i have had the fees waived by the college and i owe them nothing, i called the collection agency to get their fax number so i could send them the letter from school so they had proof that its was waived and they told me that they had reported it to my credit report. I told them that they needed to remove it and they said they could only chenge the balance on my credit report to show that i owed them nothing. If there was no way for them to get any money why did they report it to my credit report and how do i make them remove this line from my credit report. Even if it shows a i owe them nothing it still lookes like i owed them money and had to pay them off.
