What is the name of your state? WA

While I lived with family (before I was an adult and out on my own) they had used my social security number to run up credit under my name. I have gotten some of this cleared by sending off letters to the individual companies, but not all of it. (Some of these companies will not respond. One doesn't even exist anymore!) I hadn't wanted to take any legal action against them, since they were family, but now other things have arose, and I think the time has come to do something about this. What recourse can be taken? I'm not even sure what kind of lawyer would handle this if I were to need one.
