I need to apply for one at work. I have several paid collections, lates about 1 year old....my employer has the AMEX tied into their reimbursement process...anyone applied lately? Am I doomed for denial?

The up side: Your employer can override a TD by Amex's normal process. The down side: You've disclosed your credit difficulties to your employer.

You are right. I recently moved into a new home, so I am thinking that if I am declined, I can blame it on mortage shopping.

If your company is adding you onto AMEX as an authorized user then your personal credit will not come into play as long as you do not owe AMEX on a previous account. You will get the new card as long as you owe AMEX nothing.

You should have no problems getting a corporate card.

I have credit problems (judgements, late pays, etc.) on my report and i've gotten AMEX corporate cards with no problems.
