Bluetooth on 2006 X5

Does anybody have experience in pairing a Bluetooth phone and the X5? If yes, how do I do it?

Pairing is invisible and almost automatic. With the vehicle turned off, enable BT on the phone. Turn the key to the first or second position. Within two minutes, the phone will ask you for the BT pairing passkey. (This is on the BT card that came with the vehicle.) Enter the passkey on the phone. After the confirmation turn the vehicle off. Assuming you have set BT on the phone to automatically pair, that the phone is not "invisible", and that the phone is in range, pairing will now be automatic within two minutes every time you turn the vehicle on.

Depending on phone model, there may be a significant delay for the phonebook to transfer the first time.
Thanks for the response, the problem I have is that I didn't get a BT Card. I saw the Service Guy do it without looking at a card. On my 330IA I setup my own key to pair.
For the X3 and X5 you should have the card. The passkey is also usually on the TCU, but it may be on the side facing toward the fender and hard to see.

(With the 330, does it have iDrive? If so, possibly the pairing is different. I don't know of anyone who could select their own passkey for an X3 or X5, but that doesn't mean it hasn't been done.)
Could anyone tell me where the passkey is on an '06 750Li?

No key, but I had the engine off and searched bluetooth with my phone after putting it on "visible for 3 minutes". It found my car and said "BMW####" and then I got to the passkey and all I could think of typing in was my voicemail pass and that didn't work.:D

Somebody help!
(1) The xxxx should be the last digits of your VIN. It is not the pairing passkey.

(2) The following is NOT from personal experience but rather from reading the instructions. If your car has iDrive (my doesn't), it appears there is a sub-menu under the Communications menu that allows you to input your own passkey. You give the car and the phone the same 4-digit number and you are set.

Possibly someone with iDrive and BT will confirm or correct this.
