pretty good mate ! Got to get my post count up so I can contribute with pictures : - ) Yes you do TT.... the electronics retrofitting you've done is fantastic. Many here will enjoy seeing your work. yes indeed. so how's the 840 these days? cheers mate. Asked for a quote for shipping those springs to you today and am expecting an answer tomorrow... ! Glad you like the 21st Century update I'm currently doing to my e31. I take it you saw it over on clube31.com ? Hoping to get more pics of that taken this week. Still loads of work/thinking/wiring/thinking/and more wiring to do yet !!! yes indeed. so how's the 840 these days? the 840 is currently in a coma. Mechanically sound, but no brain ; - ).... Or seats ha ha. Still waiting for 'fingers' to return them in 'as new' condition as paid for originally ! Can I post pics on post#16, or is it a decision made by the MODS ? nope, not that I know of. why don't you start a thread, and I'll post your pics? use the "Go Advanced" button right under the message box. When you click on that you can attach pics via the little paperclip icon in the top row of buttons.... 229073 well guys, this is my 840 ! Nice ride:buttrock cheers Toy here is the current stage of my interior conversion 229081 229082 229083 229084 seen this on loads of posts so far, and I love it everytime. well done mate, top job just spreading the word mate ! Car looks nice... Those wheels look good on her... Hi Tony Nice 8 mate, what size wheels and tyres are those? Regards Luke. F 245/35/19 on 8.5J R 275/30/19 ON 9.5J Genuine M6 wheels. They look so much better with smaller sidewalls, unlike the M6 spec tyres I took off to get them to fit. cheers Tony Ohh yeah! Those M6 wheels are sweet on the 8! Nice ride man. Cheers Sama.. I'm ready for you guys now, I have a UK slang dictionary pulled up whenever I'm over on clube31 so I can figure out whats meant in some of the posts :stickoutt... i.e. pants performance ....hilarious bollocks! :) How'd you get the steering wheel moved to the wrong side? :) I gotta tell you that your Mobile PC project is ticking me off - just when I got my system "finished" you have to come along and tease me like that! I'm aboot a generation off doing this upgrade, I'm afraid. Nowhere near my skill level at present. But someday...:thinkerg I'm aboot a generation off doing this upgrade, I'm afraid. Nowhere near my skill level at present. But someday...:thinkerg once up and running myself and Sama will be in a position to offer the parts and software needed in kit form, ie the, car PC with preinstalled Front End programs, HVAC centre partition bezel, and a Centre Console with built in screen, and cradle for repositioned OBC/MID. However, since we are still in the process of installing the first generation of the upgrades, this sort of thing will only be available later in the year. I also have a iDrive console, to replace the the e31 ashtray. Again, the software for this is still in development and unfinished, but hopefully in the coming months this will also be available. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x74/BigTvProductions/IMAGE_092.jpg http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x74/BigTvProductions/IMAGE_093.jpg Just a taste...... :cool Hot damn, that is amazing! :buttrock Hello thats some serious modifications to the interior. Very original Hell yeah, I can't wait. What kinda price range are you estimating for the complete kit? We've been asked that few times and it's difficult to gauge really. We really don't want to be giving any false ideas to the community, since we're not 100% sure yet. Some costs can be minimized, like smaller cpu's and hard disks, whilst others may increase, like making wiring harnesses as not everyone is comfortable cutting into wires etc, custom bezels for wood trims etc. Optional components like Digital TV, reverse cameras, night vision etc will all add/remove cost. sorry for being so vague and giving you little information to your question :) Sama, Think you might start dribbling out pieces as they become available, or are you going the wait until everything is complete? I only ask (selfishly) because I'm going to be relocating the HVAC controls to the center as you've done and would love to not have to reinvent the wheel so to speak... dude dude dude....the m6 wheels are sickk on the 8.....very nice set up u got there bro....what is the off set on the wheels? and are they 19's?... rockytt - I'll let you know if we can do one of those as a one off! what are you planning to do? fab the screen yourself? I wish - you and Tony got me going on the whole Car PC thing, but I've realized I'm going to have to go low-rent and just put in the Alpine double-din receiver. Not nearly enough hours in the day and way too many irons in the fire. I do need to relocate the HVAC as part of this process though. Is your an insert for the existing center console piece or do you "simply" fab the whole thing? for existing. You'll need to cut off some bits off the HVAC itself. I also have a iDrive console, to replace the the e31 ashtray. http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x74/BigTvProductions/IMAGE_092.jpg Ugh! iDrive! :ar15firin Seriously nice work you're doing, but I hate the "one button to rule them all" approach. I have a template made now for the HVAC centre partition bezel :) You need to cut some of the HVAC mounts off (on the long face, not the ends) and then bound the Bezel to it. So you can imagine that this modification is irreversible ! http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x74/BigTvProductions/P180208_1419Small.jpg You also need to remove some of the floor of the centre partition moulding to enable the internal fan of the HVAC to sit properly as it is just a little too deep to fit perfectly in the partition. Nothing hard, but you'll need a Dremel Tool or similar to do it. Whilst you are at it you can install some LEDs into the HVAC to brighten up the Dials.... http://i181.photobucket.com/albums/x74/BigTvProductions/P200208_211702Small.jpg There is a thread over on clube31.com in Modifications showing exactly how to do this (with pictures).. http://www.clube31.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4914&start=0 About the iDrive !!! I personally love it, hence my persistence in trying to get it in my car (Sama :help). However the advantage over iDrive of the Car PC is the fully functioning Touchscreen, as seen here in a short video I took yesterday. (the screen was out of it's mounting Console as I modified the input selector button to work with a remote switch - the TV one in my pictures in an above post). See what you think.... but just bear in mind this video is just really to show the switch mod :) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7HcuieP_k4 I also had the TV playing :cool dude dude dude....the m6 wheels are sickk on the 8.....very nice set up u got there bro....what is the off set on the wheels? and are they 19's?... Cheers mate, I love them, and they look amazing in motion ! IIRC.... ET 12 Front ET 17 Rear I have Eibach wheel spacers on mine to push them out towards the wheel arch, but otherwise a direct fit from the M6. My wheels are genuine BMW OEM btw, the replicas just don't cut it for me as the design of the spokes is different, and obvious once you have seen the originals. Plus the polished finish is much better IMHO. Very Nice. Don't think I've seen anyone use the M6 wheels before, good choice. Interior mods are very cool - I know I don't have the skills to tackle something like that. Looks like fun though. I have a template made now for the HVAC centre partition bezel So-how does one obtain one of these great-looking bezels? That is sweet. Got to give you credit! Say Tony...you got the great expertise I got a question for you. That Idrive console you made, can you make some thing similar for the bottom box that used to fit the factory phone? Looks great!! so you can still smoke? :) |
