You guys doing the team rush upgrade and using the stock type coil,Whar are you using for a coil wire? I had a set of wires sitting around for my '79 F150. Here's a pic. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v470/DannibusX/Vehicles/Jeep/Misc010.jpg The coil wire came with the plug wires when I bought mine from Napa. I bought the wires for a 1981 F-150 300 I6. I used that same year/model to purchase the cap, adapter, and rotor as well. It all worked fine, but I haven't gotten around to installing the beefier ignition coil I bought and gapping out the plugs a little more... Also, not sure if you knew it or not but you will need the plug wires off the 1981 F-150 300 I6 as well since our stock CJ style plug wires will not plug into the 300 I6 distributor cap. Thats what I was getting at.If you use the e coil all the wires work fine but if you use the stock oil filled coil the ends won't hook up.Ones male and the other isnt.I guess you can use an end off a plug wire to make it work I removed the end from a sparkplug wire and fixed it where it would fit inside the old coil wire and plugs over the new distributor. Works without any problems. one more team rush question any pics on adding a ground wire to the ignition module as suggested. |
