FINALLY! Jeep is done!! Pics!

I'm proud to say that I finally have my '77 CJ 7 done!! It has the original (but rebuilt) 304 and T400 tranny. It runs good. Just need to get that power break swap. It's an SOB to stop on the highway!

It has a 2.5" lift and DOES get a little wild on the highway around 60 or 65. I thought I could throw in a 2 degree wedge and hopefully that will solve the problem. thoughts?

Check it out and let me know what you guys think!

That looks really good. I like the orange/black combo, and the wheels, along with everything else
Looks great!

Who makes the center console you used?
Looks good man - How long were you working on it and what all did you do?

Check your castor, you may not needs shims if you are around 6 deg. If you are, check all your other components before making too many drastic changes. Could just have something loose or worn out somewhere. If your castor is off, then shims will help.
looks great. i like the seats and console.

What are those "boxes" on the fender wells? Storage? Speakers?
Nice looking CJ!!
nice cj. really digging the faceplate around the gauges. looks like its ready to have some fun!
wow nicely done. i want toask you something.i am a fan of column shifter ,as now i am using B&m shifter but want to switch to column shift.i got 305 and a th400/np205 in my CJ. Is it possible to switch to column shifter??

thank you
Yes Sir! Very nice. Somethin' to be proud of!

Is that an automatic?
No comment about the Hula girl yet? I'll bite...

Sweet Hula girl mod! I hope her head doesn't fall off!
Looks sweet. Nice CJ.
Very sharp. My favorite color combo, too.
Looks great!

Who makes the center console you used?

Smittybilt makes the console. I bought it off of 4wd.com. Great product. I think it was about $120. Worth every penny.

I guess I worked on it about 4 months. Mechanically the jeep was running great. I really did all the cosmetic work. Completely gutted the interior and started over. Ripped out all the old rotten carpet, Herculined the tub, re-wired the gauges and recessed them back into the dash. (previous owner didn't install them correctly). Ripped off the dash for more of an old school look, replaced all brake rotors and pads and tuned the carb and thew on the new wheels/tires to top it off.

I appreciate the tip on the castor angle. I bought an angle measuring tool but haven't done any measuring yet. It has a 2.5" lift so I'm thinking I'll only need a 2 degree shim? I am really hoping I can fix the "loosness" of the steering @ higher speeds!

Yep! It's an auto! I thought I wanted a standard but after having the auto I'm really happy with it. it's a great weekend cruiser.

Where in Texas are you, TexasCJ7?
looks great. i like the seats and console.

What are those "boxes" on the fender wells? Storage? Speakers?

The boxes are lockable storage and 6x9 speaker boxes. If you want a stereo in your rig I highly recommend these! They bolt right on to the fender well. now the only thing I'm worried about getting stolen is the jeep itself.

is that something you fabbed up or bought somewhere?

Nope, bought them. They are made by Tuffy products. Here's the link...

thanks for the link. not a bad price i guess for storage and speakers.
very nice!

of course, even though you say 'it's done', you realize that you are not, in fact, 'done', right?;)

Nice looking CJ, :2thumbsup:
Who makes the Rocker/Steps that you have?
very nice!

That's the frustrating/exiting thing about it. I can name 100 other "projects" that I want to do to this rig. power brakes, 1" body lift, additional speaker wiring, fuel injection, new 350 engine, new exhaust, etc etc etc...Some of it I'll get to, some of it is a pipe dream. For now, I'm pretty happy.
Nice looking CJ, :2thumbsup:

I'm not sure who makes the rocker steps. They were on there when I bought the jeep.
It took you 4 months!!!! I hope to be done with the projects I already started in 4 years.

It looks great.
That is a sweet looking CJ-7. I really dig the orange/black color combo. How well do the speaker boxes/storage units work? I have been looking at those products for white awhile now, and just can't seem to talk myself into the purchase of them. I have a 79 CJ-7 that is primarily run with no top or doors so my main concern is the water proffing of the boxes. Any info is greatly appreciated.
It looks great. Where did you get the seats? I really like em.

The speaker/storage boxes work great for what they are. They are plenty loud out of my pioneer (50w per channel) cd player. I would say that the boxes are probably 80% water proof. You're going to get water through the speaker grills (not much) but that's about it. You can solve this problem by getting marine 6x9 speakers, or just don't spend much on them!

I wouldn't hesitate to get these again. Great purchase.

I can't remember where I got the seats. I have the receipt, I can look it up and get back to you. Hoss, do you remember where you got yours?

They seem to be great seats though. They weren't too much, I think around $120 to $140 each...something like that.

Meh. A jeep is never really done, just periods of time where you spend less money on her. Looks good, though!!!

I think mine were $109+ shipping. JC whitney, Q-tec,CB Jeeps and all the rest carry them as well.

Well he did say that he bougght the measuring tools to adjust his castor angle. So I guess he really isn't done.
That's a beautiful Jeep. I hope ours turns out 1/2 as well!
Great colors, and thanks for the speaker input.
