Home-No lights at all..........
No lights at all..........
|
I was going to meet my wife at church tonight and it was getting dark so I pulled on my light switch and nothing happened. No dash lights, no headlights,no taillights. This is the first time it ever happened. Checked it while ago and still nothing. I think its probably the headlight switch. Any ideas before I break out the trusty test light??? Thanks once again.... You lost the running lights, dash lights and headlights? I would first check that the plug is all the way on first. Then inspect the plug and see if the power lead has overheated and is loose. Also check the firewall plug to make sure it is tight. There are man times a ground can be a proble,m but if you lost ALL lights then it's power related pointing to the switch or power feed. Quick question: Did the motor start? I would inspect the fusible links off the starter solenoid. Maybe you had a short and fried one of those. Quick question: Did the motor start? Everything works....just no lights..No headlights, running lights,no dash lights or tail lights.....I do still have brake lights Fuses all good? Pull the headlight switch out of the dash and start probin' with the test light... Sounds like a bad headlight switch. When this happened to me, all i had to do was mess with the high/low beam switch and everything worked perfect. When this happened to me, all i had to do was mess with the high/low beam switch and everything worked perfect. High/low beam switch won't effect the dash or parking lights..... but he probably should replace it anyway. When he gets a new headlight switch, that old switch will be seeing a lot more current. Just some FYI..put a test light on headlight switch..it had power going to it but nothing coming out:(unplugged and replugged..tapped it a few times lightly and checked again..nothing:( removed switched and dropped it on the floor(by accident I think) then retried and it worked....Went to town and bought new headlight switch and dimmer switch, replaced old with new and now everything works. The headlights even appear to be brighter:D Thanks guys:cheers2: I was going to meet my wife at church tonight and it was getting dark so I pulled on my light switch and nothing happened... I was about to suggest that God was trying to tell you something.... Glad you got it fixed. Now upgrade to a relay system and give you 30 year old wiring a break..... |
