Morning Chaps.Jeep owner here in the UK.
I have a a 1979 AMC360 Quadratrac Jeep.
My starter is causing me issues!It currently has a high torque style starter(posh one) on it, and I have had it refurbed twice, with no improved results.
I am now looking to change it.Are the AMC starters unique to the engine,or will any of the 4.2 YJ starters fit at all?

The reason I ask is that the CJ is quite rare over here, but the YJ is prolific.

I was going to reply that I have a spare in the garage that I could sell you but then I noticed that you are in the UK!!! I dont believe that they would fit, the bolt pattern on the bellhousing is different. Sorry. You may be able to locate a rebuild kit for it but I have never done that.

Can you just order a new starter from Quadratec? I don't know if they ship International, but if they do you should get their catalog!

Lighthouse Jeep parts in Diss stock them or get 1 shipped from 4wd.com, it takes 5 days UPS. Most YJ's over here are 4 litre not 4.2
