Keeping Clean Seats

Hey guys, my family just traded in our '04 Sienna for an '09 Matrix and I was wondering:

What is the best way to protect the seats? In our package we don't have the leather interior and my dad's job usually has him a bit dirty.

He doesn't get to the point where he's covered in mud or anything, but sometimes he's in a garage or outside and he always has his way of either making the seats seem dirty.

What's the best way to protect the seats, and keep the nice look of the interior? Or do we just have to keep on top of the cleaning?

Walmart carries this product called ScotchGuard. It's a spray you apply to fabric or carpet and the company claims that after this product is applied, dirt and grime should come off very easily. I just started to use this stuff, I can't tell you about its performance, but I would recommend that you clean your carpets/fabrics before you apply it.

Good luck:D
thanks; i just recently picked it up, but only used it on my seats and didn't even bother spraying the carpets lol :(. perhaps next time i clean the car i will, but thanks, i definitely picked it up :D
Products like Scotchguard will help for sure, but depending on how dirty you're dad is when he gets in, you may want to consider some kind of seat covers if you really want to preserve them. I'm not a big fan of them, but if I needed some serious protection I'd at least consider them. You don't really go into much detail so I don't have a good picture of whether he has grease, mud, etc., on his clothes sometimes or what.
