I have 99 Camry, but I want make it shiny lol. Which wax should I use???? I have used Meguir's cleaner wax and Quick Wax. The best shine I've gotten so far though is Mother's cleaner wax, of course, that might have something to do with the fact that I clay barred the car before using it (Pics soon :)). I'm trying Eagle One Nano Wax spray wax next on my Dad's truck and maybe on my car, it looked like the best spray at the store and I hadn't tried it so I got it. I'll let you know. You might want to take a peek at the latest Consumer Reports. I don't think Consumer Report's list was that great on wax and wash products. What color is your car? If it's a dark color, ie black, then P21S Carnauba is great, if its a ligher color, most synthetic waxes like Meguiar's NXT would be a better choice. We have a sticky here: http://toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126755 gray Strange, no mothers products tested at all. wierd. That's cool that a cheap one was the best though. I have 99 Camry, but I want make it shiny lol. Which wax should I use???? If you want the best, read the tests!!!!!!! http://www.nsxsc.com/nsexcitement/waxtest.html http://www.gurureports.org/press/wax-test-2002-release.html I go with Meguir's, personally. For shine, you should go through a few steps... 1. Wash 2. Clay Bar 3. Polish 4. Wax I've used the Zaino products on my Camry for quite a while. They have a nice synthetic wax with good UV protrection. It's called the Z-2 Pro nowdays. Great stuff but expensive. Make sure to wash your car with something like Dawn dishwashing soap first to get rid of the old wax. I use the Turtle ICE,,damn that stuff is good,,nyce shine stays for a while,,really good wax You should try giving natty's blue a try... from the poorboys line. It'll give your paint that deep wet look. I say go with Klasse or PoorBoys EX or EX-P topped with Nattys Blue or P21S. Then as a final step mist the paint with some quick detail spray and buff off. This adds a little extra shine and moisture. I use PoorBoys Spray & Gloss. That Consumer Reports article was BS. Too many variables. All the different waxes were put on their employees cars, which all have different paint colors and conditions. The paint should have been properly cleaned too. The key to a good wax job is the condition of the paint before you apply the wax. This is the reason why we clay and polish. A good wax is useless if the paint isn't prepared first. Then CR rated the waxes on their cleaning ability. Wax isn't made to clean!!!! This is why P21S was rated so low in their tests. It doesn't clean well. Wax is for protection! Polish and clay is for cleaning. There are cleaner waxes, but they don't shine as well as a dedicated wax. Except for Klasse, I don't use any waxes that have any cleaners or polish in them. I actually find that Turtle Wax works best for me. Leaves a hard shell that even in the Harsh Australian sun it lasts upto 3 months... Would that be the same Consumer Reports that assured me that my Nissan Maxima would be a great car?? I take their ranking with a grain of salt. Your mule's mileage may vary. I was reading that magazine at Costco the other day. As soon as I saw that P21s didn't win, I threw the magazine on the ground. Has anybody here tried http://www.geoffreybodinefrenzy.com/ ? Beening a Big G. Bodine fan in his nascar days I was thinking about trying it out.. There are many! I suggest pick one, try it, if you don't like the results, try another! I've been using the TW Ice lately. I like the fact of no white residue, and its lasting longer than others I've used, but it wouldn't be worth a crap on "tired" paint.....Pb seems to be an expert about detailing, following his advise would be a wise idea for a noob. Geoff's into detailing products now:lol: I was wondering what he was up to. I wonder what happened to Brett?.... a couple weeks back I waxed my car with good old Meguiars 1,2,3 step application  so during the hole process I had a friggen huge brain fart and I ended up waxing my plastic side mirrors :sosad: on my Toyota Yaris of course I can not get off this white residue :headbang: does someone have a tip out their that can help me get rid of it  ^^^Peanut butter, and a tooth brush....smooth not chunky! that'll take it off! a couple weeks back I waxed my car with good old Meguiars 1,2,3 step application  so during the hole process I had a friggen huge brain fart and I ended up waxing my plastic side mirrors :sosad: on my Toyota Yaris of course I can not get off this white residue :headbang: does someone have a tip out their that can help me get rid of it  Is the plastic porous? Try a slightly damp Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Don't rub too hard though. Also try Isopropyl Alcohol. Peanut butter will work temporarily because the oils in it masks the wax, but after a while the wax will come back. You want to remove the wax, not cover it up. Do what Pb says..he knows I forgot to mention: If the plastic is real porous you can also try rubber erasers, like ones that erase pencil lead. Go to a school or office supply store and get a couple big erasers. Try a white one and a pink one.
