I think thats the gap that the new FJ Cruiser is supposed to fill. Still though, like you said, they don't have any vehicle the size of the RAV4 that is competent off-road. The FJ is more of a midsizer, it fits between the RAV4 and 4Runner as far as size goes. ---------

It's been years since they had anything even close to the size of a 2005-gen RAV4 that was competent off-road. 200)?200:this.scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;"> IFCAR Homepage IFCAR Comparo: Economy Sedans IFCAR Comparo: Luxury Un-Sport Sedans IFCAR Comparo: Midsize Crew Cab Pickups IFCAR Comparo: Compact Hatchbacks and Wagons I am IFCAR and I approve this message. --------- honestly, how many SUVs on the market are competent off road other than Jeep, Hummer and Land Rover? 200)?200:this.scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">

What i ment is this has gone upscale from where the Escape/rav-4 was to i guess get the jump on the others carmakers but Ford now have the Edge to do battle with and now toyota have no Escape/rav-4 competior anymore. 200)?200:this.scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">

Well i ment Cr-v/Escape competitor. The Rav-4 is too big for the compact segment. 200)?200:this.scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">

Dude, the current CR-V is bigger than the current RAV4. As a matter of fact the CR-V is no longer considered a compact SUV like the RAV4. That designation is now taken by the Honda Element, the CR-V is now considered a midsize SUV (albeit entry-level). You might want to disagree with that but, that's the way edmunds.com classifies the CR-V even though it is realistically a RAV4/Escape/Tucson competitor. I think Toyota made the RAV4 larger to go head to head with the CR-V. 200)?200:this.scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">
