I am considering purchasing a 2000 kia sportage 4x4. I was wondering if any one has any experience with them.

--------- thanks! Anyone else with any info?
--------- The first generation Sportage was garbage unless you wanted a disposable off-road vehicle. Unless that's what you are looking for, or unless it is impossibly inexpensive, I'd look at somethign else.

The only things good I can say about it, Good Gas Milage, Avg about 22mpg, and it was cheap under 20k brand new at the time and when you where in 4wd it handeled deep snow with no problems. Believe me you get what you pay for, and as soon as it was paid off I got rid of it while I could still get something for it, the depreciation is terrible. First the Auto 4wd hubs are crap and you will have to swap them out for manual locking hubs. There are electrical problems. check engine light, transmission light would go on and off, before I got rid of it we where working on our 3rd battery in 5yrs of owning the truck. AC leak on the inside and would flood the floor board of the passenger side. Passenger side power windows hardly rolled up on their own power. All this happened with under 100k on it 5yrs of ownership with regular schedualed maitnance. There where many other problems along the way to many to list. The dealer support sucks, I personally felt they knew thier vehicles had quality control/poor engineering problems, and thats why I vowed to stay away from Kia/Hundai products forever. I have read a lot that Hundai, and Kia have made many improvments over the last couple years however I think that the savings are not worth gamble. Hope this helps just my first hand experience. I will be honest with you I'm a more educated car buyer now thanks to the ownership experience of the Sportage and now know the diffrence between Value and outright Cheep! The Sportage is cheeply made and in the long run, will turn out to be a purchase with not much value. 200)?200:this.scrollHeight); overflow: hidden;">
If it don't make sence It's gotta make Dolars!!
--------- If i were you i would buy the 2006 Sportage beacause it has a V6.... New one will also last longer...
