When I go over 75 mph I get a significant vibration that gets worse the faster I go. It seems like the whole car shakes (not just steering wheel).
I also have a bad pinion bearing (so says the mechanic).
Is it logical to think an out-of-balance driveshaft (vibration) has caused damage to the pinion bearing??
I have yet to get the wheels balanced.

I have yet to get the wheels balanced.
what are you waiting for?
I wouldn't be driving fast without balancing the tires.
Balance the tires and then get back to us. IF it consists, you have some suspension work to do my friend!
Has the suspension been inspected by an experienced BMW tech?
Was the alignment done per BMW's procedures, which includes weighting the car to standard ride height?
Have the wheels been checked for runout?
Does the car have aftermarket wheels? Some aftermarket wheels are a poor fit on the centering hub. Those can't be balanced off the car since each time they are mounted they'll have a different axis of rotation.
My car is vibrating at high speeds as well. I just got the tires balanced but it didn't help. I had alignment done but it didn't help. I don't remember hearing any noise that is indication of wheel bearings. What could it be?
Vibration in the steering wheel or the sound of vibration/feel it through the body of the car?
oh cool! i have this problem too! so balancing the wheels would be a good start? would a wheel alignment also help? my steering wheel also shakes when i turn to the right only. does this have anything to do with it?
