first let me start with the problem: virbation at 1,000rpm and again at 1,800rpm. in gear or out, standing still or moving. had the motor mounts replaced first along with the power steering pully. didnt fix it. then after i got that service done along with an inspection 2, 2 weeks later my clutch pedal went soft. so here i am now:::::
3 of the forks on the pressure plate were bent in about 1/4 inch or so and the clutch disc was rubbing agaist a rivit that is on the back side of the pressure plate, which tore up the clutch disc sides. plus the flywheel has hot spots on it. so i need all that stuff. and it will cost $1,400 to fix. why would the forks be bent?
the mechanic i found is a cool guy, his place is called REDDs Auto in Annapolis. hes friendly, knowlageable and has lots of bmw tools and electronics. he know what he was talking about. and i also need new trailing arm bushings.
lets discuss why my pressure plate got like that...(please)?) i will take pictures in a few days to show you all( who are interested). he said the car looks pretty good, but it has been run hard and that is why those things need to be replaced. i bought the car 20,000miles ago and it was CPO and it turned out to have been leased(i didnt know till after i bought it) and it has had a few problems. there is no way i dogged my car like that! i love this thing and i am a calm driver ,but i am a fast driver in the turns. nothing crazy tho , and thats the thing..... this sucks! i bought it with 42,5xxmiels.... sad...
i already spent 1,500 this year on the car, so that would be a total of 3000 in one year.
can we get a full on discussing going about the WHOle sitrep?
please ask questions if you have them.
